Firefox is a well known Indian bicycle manufacturer that makes quality bicycles. And when it comes to hybrid bikes, Firefox has always set new standards. And with the Volante they intend to do the same.

The bike is loaded with specs and it’s pretty promising. So without any further delay, let’s get into the review:-

Frame Fork and Handelbar:

This is one of the nicest frames ever built by Firefox. Made from alloy 6061, the bicycle is light and surely stands out with the premium matt paint job. Weighing just around 13kgs the bike is as good as any other imported brand. What makes this bicycle even more killer is the internal cable routing.

As a performance focussed hybrid, the lightweight frame offers an upright position making it ideal for endless hours of cycling.

The Volante is paired with an Alloy rigid fork, that does the job brilliantly of absorbing vibrations and makes the bike faster. Besides, as the fork is rigid, it requires no maintenance except regular cleaning.

To make things better, the bike is equipped with a zoom alloy 660mm handlebar that further enhances the ride quality by offering an open chested posture. This even makes climbing much easier.

Overall, the Firefox volante frame is a definite 4.5 on 5

Drivetrain:

When it comes to performance, what you need is smooth and responsive shifting. And keeping that in mind, Firefox offers Shimano’s Acera at the rear and a Shimano’s Altus in the front. With the 3X9 gearing option, volante offers a wide array of gears for inclines, declines and flats.

These gears are controlled by the Altus shifters that are really sleek and offer a responsive and quick-shifting experience. We had nothing to complain about when it comes to the shifting as it was on par. It definitely deserves a 5/5.

Brakes:

The bike does not stay behind when it comes to stopping. Powered with Tektro V brakes, the volante offers great stopping power at high speeds or in case of emergency. On our test ride, the brakes were equally good as any mechanical disc brake systems. This gave us a lot of confidence to ride downhill as well as on wet roads.

Wheels and Tyres:

The Volante comes with 700X 35 C kinda nylon tyres that offer good traction while riding on city roads. Besides, these Tyres are mounted over sturdy double-walled alloy rims that do an incredible job on our Indian roads.

We really enjoyed the smooth and fast ride quality the volante had to offer on urban roads.

Saddle:

The ergonomically designed saddle came with a wide nose and a narrow rear that’s stylish and comes with cushioning. This keeps the rider feel comfortable, however, if you are on the heavier side, the saddle might just appear too small for you. That being said, pair it with a good set of bib shorts and there’s no stopping.

We have listed a few links to cycling accessories in our description below. Do have a look and buy as per your requirement.

Grips and pedals:

The overall bike quality was brilliant, however, Firefox missed out on a trick. The grips were pretty ok and we would surely prefer something much better. As the rider is always in contact with the grips, a better set than these would have been magic.

That being said, the Firefox came with plastic pedals that were pretty strong and sturdy. It could take the beating while pedalling hard and fast without any issues. Besides, we also didn’t experience our foot slipping off the pedal.

So the bike is a total WIN WIN!

If you are looking for a reliable performance hybrid bicycle that suitable for long-distance cycling, the Firefox Volante is for you!
